As Everything Unfolds - DID YOU ASK TO SEE US THIS SUMMER? | Wednesday, 29 Jul 2026, 20:00 | Blauer Salon, Dresden
"The Life of Brian" as a comic oratorio by Eric Idle and John du Prez Judea, 33 A.D. - A time of unrest, fear and confusion under the ruthless yoke of the Romans. The innocent Brian does not wish much from life: a little less stoning, a little more love, and maybe for people to stop looking for leaders all the time. Too bad that it is he of all people who is declared the adored and hunted Messiah. The more Brian tries to clear up the misunderstanding, the more firmly disciples attach themselves to him - including his beloved Judith. After the huge success of the Knight of the Coconut musical "Spamalot", the Brian musical "Not the Messiah" now takes the stage, played with a large cast, lots of fun and unbridled passion as the second Monty Python production on the unique ruin stage. Quotes like "Everyone gets one cross" and the hit "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" make not only Monty Python fans' hearts beat faster. Songs like "I want to change the world" or "What do the Romans...?" by Eric Idle and John du Prez also delight. Theaterruine St. Pauli brings the next Monty Python hit to the stage with "Not the Messiah" ... an amusing new take on "The Life of Brian" with many jokes from the original, lively songs and a strong ensemble performance. (Dresdner Neueste Nachrichten, 13.08.2024) The 1979 film "The Life of Brian" is now a cult classic. A stage version was created as early as 2007. Now the big fun can be seen in Dresden. Running time: about 2 hours with intermission [ngg src="galleries" ids="2" display="basic_thumbnail" thumbnail_crop="0" maximum_entity_count="500"]

Musical comedy by Claus Martin Love is bitter, revenge is sweet! She no longer understands her world: left by her husband for a younger woman and cheated in the split, the forty-year-old suddenly finds herself facing a pile of ruins and threatens to drown in the swamp of her self-doubt. Too many wrinkles, too little sex appeal - her husband had to run away! This sets cosmic primeval forces in motion: three Furies, sent by Zeus, come to help the woman who was left behind. The devilish goddesses demand justice, punishment and revenge. So an infernal firework of revenge begins, because the ex must pay. From this material, TheaterRuine St. Pauli makes a wonderfully late-summer evening of light entertainment theatre. [...] What happens from there is a real riot. Carolina Federbusch is a formidable discovery with a spellbindingly strong musical voice. [...] Under Jörg Berger's direction, "Devilish Goddesses" is a feather-light pleasure with plenty of gospel sound. (Morgenpost, 12.09.2025) A heavenly spectacle that, with wit, rousing music and the passionate play of the TheaterRuine ensemble, invites you to a supernatural roller coaster ride through the adventurous twists and turns of love.
