Footwork on instruments (Clave, Conga, Cow Bell, Bass), solo course 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM, Loft 1 -intermediate level recommended-
Salsa music is full of beautiful musical instruments such as the clave, congas, campana, or bass. The more you hear in the music, the more you can immerse yourself in the dance. The more appropriately you can interpret the music through the dance. The more lively and diverse the music sounds, the more beautiful every song, every dance, every party becomes! Hearing the instruments and then dancing to them. That is what this is about. Salsa dance experience required. Sense of rhythm required. No dance partner required. No registration required. €10 / person (reduced €5). Free for participants of Salsa Oldenburg!

Feeling the salsa movement – from walking to dancing, solo course 6:15 PM – 7:15 PM, Loft 1 -suitable for all levels-
We start with simple walking and the principles that apply there. Some of the principles remain with the movement in Salsa Cubana dancing, others do not. We move and feel which movement is better suited for which purpose. Mostly, the contrary movement plays an important role here (right arm / left leg). We extend this for the whole body until we have arrived at the perfect movement for Salsa Cubana. Spoiler alert: In the end, we end up with the "Cuban Motion" movement. Prerequisite: Sense of rhythm. No dance partner required. No registration required. €10 / person (reduced €5). Free for participants of Salsa Oldenburg!
Salsa dancing with a cocktail, partner course 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM, Loft 1 -suitable from intermediate level-
"The cocktail should be in the hand most of the time and not yet in the head. It is less good if it is on the floor, and it should under no circumstances be distributed evenly over the dance partner, as this could lead to cheek pain!" [DTN (German Dance Standard) for dance parties §1, para. 2, sentence 3+4] This course is of course to be seen with a wink: It is nice to be able to dance so well that you can hold a cocktail / a drink in your hand on the side or even share it civilizedly with the dance partner while dancing. We practice this first with the Cuban trend-cocktail "Aqua del grifo sin gas". Please bring: Dance partner with cocktail-proof dance shoes! Prerequisite: Enchufla and Dile Que No must be mastered. Dance partner required. No registration required. €10 / person (reduced €5). Free for participants of Salsa Oldenburg!
MDR Music Summer
Salsa Musicality basic knowledge, solo course 6:15 PM – 7:15 PM, Loft 1 -suitable for all levels-
You always dance to the music and not just to the beat! If you only want to dance to the beat, you can just set up a metronome. How BORING! To get more into the music, it is very helpful to know and be able to hear the instruments. The more instruments you perceive, the better you can dance to the music, the more fun dancing is. Therefore, the basic instruments like clave, conga, campana, etc. are explained in this course and we dance to them. Prerequisite: Sense of rhythm "on 1". No dance partner required. No registration required. €10 / person (reduced €5). Free for participants of Salsa Oldenburg!
Salsa on Clave, solo course 7:30 PM – 8:30 PM, Loft 1 -suitable for all levels-
The most important instrument of salsa music is the clave (wood block). The rhythm it plays in salsa is called "Son-Clave". We take this rhythm as a basis to dance exactly to it. This trains the ear additionally and the musical understanding improves greatly. Theoretically, you can also participate in the course without salsa prior experience, but if you have a basic understanding of the salsa basic rhythm, this is an advantage. Only through the clave does the salsa music come to life. Prerequisite: Sense of rhythm "on 1". No dance partner required. No registration required. €10 / person (reduced €5). Free for participants of Salsa Oldenburg!

Oldenburg City Gardens
From May 9 to August 9, 2026, the Oldenburg City Gardens will once again transform the city center into green oases. Under the motto "Tree Whispers", a mobile forest with around 150 trees will move through the city, providing more recreational quality, a better city climate, and additional living space for animals. After various stations in the city center, the trees will be permanently used in urban green spaces. The project is supplemented by six temporary show gardens that take up themes such as forest, permaculture, and near-natural design. Sustainability is at the center: peat-free soil, native plants, and recycled materials that will continue to be used after the summer are used. Locations of the temporary gardens Further information You can find all further information about the Oldenburg City Gardens on the website of Oldenburg Tourismus und Marketing GmbH (OTM)
