In our children's library, reading becomes an experience! Together we dive into an exciting picture-book story that is shown on a big screen and read aloud live. In keeping with the story, we then make small works of art together, which the children may take home.

It is a hard, tender novel about love for a difficult father and the path into life. Lena Schätte, born in 1993 in Lüdenscheid, made her debut in 2014 with the novel "Ruhrpottliebe." In the following years she worked as a psychiatric nurse in the Ruhr area until she began studying literary writing at the German Literature Institute Leipzig in 2020. Today she cares for people with addictions in Lüdenscheid - and writes. Lena Schätte has won several prizes for her novel "Das Schwarz an den Händen meines Vaters"; the novel was also on the longlist for the German Book Prize 2025. A cooperation with Theater Oberhausen!
